    1. How is value used in the composition? (Creates 3-d, use of light and dark, mood, contrast). Be specific, if value missing or weak include that also.
Value is used well in this composition. The contrast between the shimmering water background and the hands gives it the appearance of having depth. I think the contrast between the text and the green disc could be increased, perhaps with a different hue. Overall, the mood is encouraging and bright. Good job.

Your message for this project is very good. Your concept comes across well. I like the water patterns in your background. It enhances your focus images. I would suggest adding a little texture to the green color in the background. Great job!!

    5. What do you think of the quality of the design and composition? Would this design work well as a billboard or multi-purpose advertising? Does the concept of sustainability as far as water the strongest focus of the piece?

The overall idea of the composition I understand, but there are a lot of images in the composition which makes it hard to follow. Also, I don’t quite understand the green at the bottom of the composition. The hand to the left seems black & white and doesn’t flow with the other colors to the left. I think if you take the green out and use some different pictures it would be a bit better. I don’t know if this piece, as is, would work well for a billboard because the text would be hard to see and I don’t know if the hands with the different items would be understood the first time I drove by it. I would get what the message was saying with the water and I would know it would be a “green” message, but I’m not sure if I would need a second or third drive-by to fully grasp the overall image. I think that sustainability is shown in the image with the water and the hands holding different images.

    4. How effectively was the concept of “green-ness” explored? Do you think that this student used the elements of value, texture and color effectively to enhance the concept, how did the branding of the song interplay if at all?

I believe that the element of green-ness was very effectively conveyed in this piece. The use of the common element of hands helps to make the piece familiar to the viewer in the fact that everyone has hands that they use daily, which adds a common thread to the piece. The hands are holding different object in the piece which gives new ideas as to what can be saved by saving water. The piece works together to show how saving one thing will in turn save other things and help to create a cohesive cycle. Great Job!

There is no doubt that Alondria did an excellent job portraying “Green-ness” in this piece. The simple sentence is the basis for the entire piece. The hands holding earth, baby, plant, and water, give you a total feel for going green. Also, it presents a “gentle” feel with the baby, so it goes right along with the mood of the song.

I think the quality of the design and composition was well executed. I understand her message and she did a great job getting it across. I think this design could work well as a billboard advertisement. Yes, the concept of sustainability as far as water in the piece was the strong if not the strongest and it really appealed to her message and overall concept. Great Job!
